Three floors above a long passage at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology infamously known as the Infinite Corridor, a graduate student painstakingly traces outlines on poster-sized pieces of plastic. His name: Keith Durand. His mission: to protect some of Massachusetts’ most precious historical documents from the ravages of time, air, thieves, and children’s sticky fingers.
